Attorney Bill McCririe
Specializing in Divorce and Criminal Law
Bill McCririe is a second-generation Livingston County attorney. There are over 90 years of legal experience between him and his father, with whom he worked in private practice for eight years.

ABUSE/NEGLECT
Are you afraid the government will take your kids away?
Are you feeling panicked, scared? Do you need help keeping your family together?
Bill McCririe is the expert attorney you need on your side.
Child abuse and neglect charges are serious. You could lose custody of your kids or have your parental rights terminated. You could even find yourself on the central registry, or losing your parental rights.
Sometimes abuse and neglect charges come about in divorces with child custody battles. Sometimes, these charges are filed against people who are unrelated to the child, such as a caretaker or neighbor.
In Michigan, school employees, doctors, nurses, social workers and others who have professional contact with children under law MUST report any suspected child abuse. These reports, in turn, may be investigated by Children’s Protective Services, whether or not facts support the allegations.
The worst thing you can do is wait until you’re formally charged with child abuse and/or neglect to seek out legal help to fight back.
The law is complicated and often difficult to understand. You need an expert lawyer to help you navigate your way through the system and make sure your rights are preserved.
Keep in mind, too, that you don’t need to be formally charged to use expert legal help: Any suspicion of child abuse and neglect — including even the way you discipline your kids — can be used against you in a custody dispute and cause you to lose your kids.
The best thing you can do to protect yourself is call Bill McCririe. There is no better expert advocate around. He’s the tough, shrewd, seasoned, legal professional you need in your corner. After 16 years as an assistant prosecutor in Livingston County, McCririe — well-known for his fearless courtroom battling on behalf of his clients — knows well how the legal system works.
